About the position

The Host position at Root & Bone is a part-time role focused on providing excellent customer service by greeting and seating guests in a friendly manner. The Host plays a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and efficient seating arrangements, directly reporting to the Restaurant General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Greet all restaurant patrons immediately upon their arrival.
• Inquire as to the number of guests in the party, maintain wait lists, and communicate wait time to guests.
• Assign guests to server stations in a fair and equitable manner, gather the appropriate number of menus, and seat guests accordingly.
• Answer customer inquiries about the menu and restaurant.
• Answer phones and book reservations as requested.
• Perform opening and closing side work duties such as cleaning menus, waiting area, and restrooms.
• Assist with table setup activities.

Requirements

• Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• A friendly and energetic personality with a customer service focus.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and to stand for long periods of time as well as walk, bend, stoop.
• Ability to cross-train and work in different departments.
