Join Nelnet as a Software Engineer Intern and do real work that matters to our business. Interns will enhance and support our internal and external web-based applications. Specific responsibilities include the analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of these complex business systems. Interns will contribute meaningfully to a team that builds technology products.

Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in an IT-related field.
- Experience developing with Java, JavaScript, SQL, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience using XML, JSON, and fixed length files for data transmission and validation.
- Experience with current web technologies and frameworks on the Java platform, jQuery, or AngularJS.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using an agile development methodology.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building and maintaining Java applications and web services using Eclipse or IntelliJ.
- Software development experience using SQL.
- Familiarity with queuing technologies.
- Experience using automated build, testing, and continuous integration tools in a distributed environment.
