About the position

The ITS Support Specialist I is a part-time position at Clackamas Community College, responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for a variety of hardware and software issues within the college community. This role serves as the primary point of contact for resolving technology-related problems, ensuring an optimal learning and working environment for all users through in-person, phone, and remote assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
• Log requests and document tasks using a service desk ticket tracking system.
• Create and maintain documentation for service desk activities and procedures.
• Analyze and diagnose common technology problems to assist users.
• Research and recommend technology solutions based on user needs.
• Install upgrades and patches to maintain technology systems.
• Deploy and replace staff equipment as needed.
• Assist in maintaining digital signage hardware and peripherals.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs or replacements.
• Maintain asset inventories for IT equipment and software.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in classrooms and labs.
• Deploy classroom and lab equipment as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of training in computer technology or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical abilities with Windows OS, Active Directory, and M365 applications.
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, and printers.
• Excellent customer service skills and effective communication abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with classroom technology and audiovisual equipment.
• Experience with MacOS and network security.
