The Juvenile Probation Officer 1/2 position is responsible for supervising and managing a caseload of juvenile offenders, focusing on their rehabilitation and accountability. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supervise a caseload of juvenile offenders.
  • Develop and implement individualized case plans in coordination with community agencies.
  • Facilitate communication between youth, families, attorneys, and service providers.
  • Represent the department in court, producing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Provide trauma-informed services to youth and their families.
  • Conduct screenings and process juvenile criminal referrals.
  • Assist in community restoration and accountability for juvenile offenders.

Requirements

  • Education or experience in juvenile justice, criminal justice, sociology, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Integrity and ethical conduct in professional interactions.
