About the position

A LabView Software Development Engineer is available in Huntsville, AL with Belcan. The Software development engineer will develop LabVIEW software for test systems used to perform acceptance and qualification testing of the Blue Ring satellite, implementing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), build/release integration, peer reviews, documentation, and tool development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and code automated test equipment software to support formal and informal verification of aerospace/avionics requirements (qualification and acceptance testing), implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), build/release activities, peer reviews, documentation, and tool development.
  • Establish and follow software development processes to ensure test equipment software is reliable, released and configuration-managed.
  • Develop Detailed LabVIEW SW Design Specifications to meet or exceed Tester Requirements for product tester detailed design specifications.
  • Interface with Integrated Product Teams and Engine Avionics Hardware Test Functional Manager.
  • Use measurement and data analysis to determine root causes for failures in avionics testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering or a related field.
  • LabVIEW software development for avionics/aerospace products.
  • 6+ years of software development, integration, systems engineering, and/or testing experience.
  • Strong understanding of Data Acquisition Principles.
  • Strong software skills using LabVIEW, C#, C++, C, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience with NI DAW, cRIO, NI PXIEe, and plugins.
  • Experience developing and interpreting wiring/hardware/system schematics and associated documentation.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting analog and digital hardware with bench measurement equipment and data acquisition equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with high-reliability mission-critical software development.
  • Ability to gather and derive software, hardware, and system requirements from customer-provided documentation and engage with customers to refine defined/derived requirements.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting test networks.
  • Experience with git for SW development.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills regarding technical subjects.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
