About the position

The Lead Bartender at Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort is responsible for crafting innovative cocktails and providing exceptional service in a vibrant beachfront setting. This role involves leading a team of bartenders, managing bar inventory, and ensuring a high standard of hospitality that aligns with the restaurant's lively spirit. The Lead Bartender will engage with guests to create memorable experiences while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, craft, and serve signature cocktails and seasonal drink menus that reflect ¡VIVA!'s concept and appeal to a diverse clientele.
• Engage with guests to provide a welcoming and memorable bar experience; make recommendations and answer questions about cocktails and other offerings.
• Lead by example, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to bartenders and barbacks; train new team members on techniques, recipes, and service standards.
• Manage bar inventory and supplies; communicate with vendors and assist with ordering to maintain stock levels and ensure quality ingredients.
• Ensure drinks are prepared to the highest standard, following all recipes and presentation guidelines, and maintaining consistency and quality.
• Ensure all team members adhere to health, safety, and alcohol service guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Work closely with the kitchen, management, and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience and align with ¡VIVA!'s overall concept.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years in a bartender role, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory position; prior experience in a high-volume, upscale or trendy bar is a plus.
• Strong mixology knowledge, creative flair for crafting unique cocktails, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to inspire a team.
• Must have all necessary certifications for alcohol service as required by local and state regulations.
• Positive attitude, a genuine passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
