About the position
The CoCounsel AI Assistant team is both a platform and a product team. The Lead Full Stack Software engineer will build user-facing features which drive the CoCounsel chat application, and platform capabilities to enable partners from around the company to reach our customers. Develop delightful application code, easy-to-use framework and component libraries, and push our team to be efficient, productive, and nimble in a fast-moving field. Bring deep expertise in backend engineering while thoughtfully considering frontend and platform implications--especially as evolving LLM capabilities (e.g., real-time streaming) require coordinated changes across the stack, from efficient server-side delivery to responsive client rendering. This is an IC leadership role. We expect technical expertise, but also excellent interpersonal and communication skills, whether among peer engineers on the team, or stakeholders and other leaders around the company. Work collaboratively with colleagues up and down the technical stack.
Responsibilities
- Build user-facing features for the CoCounsel chat application.
- Develop application code, framework, and component libraries.

- Lead technical discussions and mentor other engineers.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the technical stack.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional software development experience.
- Experience in technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and breaking features down into stories.
- Deep expertise in back-end technologies and architectures (e.g., Python, React, FastAPI).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Proven ability to execute both tactical and strategic solutions.
