About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing technical maintenance expertise, ensuring the optimal operation of wash equipment, and maintaining wash quality standards across the assigned district. This role involves training team members on maintenance and safety standards, addressing wash down and facilities-related issues, and collaborating with management to support operational efficiency and budget adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical knowledge and support during wash down.
  • Install and update wash equipment, components, and troubleshoot equipment and buildings on property.
  • Ensure optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices and using hand and power tools.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools.
  • Perform advanced electrical work and control wiring, plumbing maintenance, and metal fabrication/welding.
  • Conduct scheduled site visits each week to designated sites within the district.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with operations and support team.
  • Maintain a work order target as budgeted and ensure safety standard requirements are met.
  • Conduct wash quality audits and ensure proper follow-up and documentation via work orders.
  • Collaborate with District Manager and Site Managers to provide expert knowledge on facilities and train local team members.
  • Interact with support office to ensure completion of licensing or permitting requirements.
  • Travel and train between all sites in the district performing repairs and new equipment installs.
  • Schedule and conduct repair and maintenance projects.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in an industrial, facilities, or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical/electrical components including shafts, bearings, gear boxes, pumps, motors, drives.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Associate degree, equivalent technical training, or appropriate hands-on experience.
  • Certification through a tech/trade school beyond high school preferred.
  • Ability to effectively train team members on safe equipment operation and ensure a high-quality member experience.
  • Strong time management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Carwash management/mechanical experience preferred.
  • Proactive, self-starter on identifying tasks and programs to complete and/or document.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage of $26.50 - $30.00.
