About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Ivy Park at Walnut Creek is responsible for maintaining the physical plant, including both exterior and interior common areas as well as individual resident units. This role is essential in ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents and staff, while also promoting teamwork and cooperation among departments. The position is part-time, requiring work on weekends, and offers a competitive pay range.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance tasks related to electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, including painting, carpet cleaning, and pressure washing.
• Maintain the grounds, including the pool and spa if applicable.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests by following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Requirements

• Prefer six months of experience in the building industry, maintenance, and/or housekeeping.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of building construction is helpful.
