About the position

Siemens Industry is seeking Technical Co-Ops for the Electrification and Automation division in Wendell, NC. This role supports a portfolio of protection and automation products and solutions, offering a variety of engineering and business opportunities including project design, product development, operations, and business analytics. The position is designed for students who are innovative problem solvers and want to contribute to impactful projects while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering work via modeling of designs using 3D NX CAD and 2D AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Participate in team improvement projects focused on process documentation and work instructions.
  • Optimize manufacturing production lines.
  • Utilize legacy documentation to configure and test energy automation systems.
  • Support prototype builds with guidance from senior members and JT files.
  • Design new parts for prototypes and update existing parts to improve designs with senior support.
  • Create and organize electrical and mechanical device libraries.
  • Provide production and lab support on product assembly.
  • Act as a liaison for operations support and interact with SAP.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools for manufacturing and engineering work visualization.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student studying Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering at NCSU.
  • Must be a registered student at the time of the internship.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and meet project deadlines.
  • 3D modeling/drafting experience (Solidworks, AutoCAD, NX).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office products, particularly proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay rate of $25.00-$31.00/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Eligibility to contribute to the 401K program.
