About the position

Air Squared Manufacturing, Inc. is an OEM manufacturer of scroll type compressors, vacuum pumps and expanders for the medical, aerospace, fuel cell and power generation industries. Air Squared offers exciting career opportunities working on projects including NASA MOXIE, Leading Electric and Autonomous Vehicle OEM, DOE Clean Energy initiatives ranging from nuclear fusion and the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-e), and other cutting-edge projects. The Manufacturing Engineer will support the Manufacturing Processes by executing a wide range of engineering disciplines to support and improve manufacturing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transition of new products from the development team to production by defining, validating, and documenting new processes
  • Contribute to continual improvement initiatives to improve quality, cost, manufacturability, and performance of products
  • Analyze production process as a whole to identify bottlenecks and problem areas and suggest areas for improvement
  • Work closely with quality to support corrective actions
  • Create documentation for processes conforming to ISO 9001 standard and additional medical, aerospace, or automotive standards as customers require
  • Train production employees on new and existing processes
  • Monitor existing processes to ensure they are in control and make recommendations for improvements
  • Design manufacturing workstations, tooling, and fixtures
  • Perform failure analysis
  • Perform statistical analysis
  • Other responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes
  • Analytical work methodology and problem solving
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Understanding of process documentation
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering (required)
  • 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role (preferred)
  • Fluent in SolidWorks modeling, assembly, and drawing (required)
  • Exposure to CNC machining, 3D printing, and metal fabrication processes
  • Experience working with power tools (Drill Press, Miter Saw, Circular Saw, Drills, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic programming experience (C++, VBA in Excel, Arduino, etc) (preferred)
  • Understanding of electrical wiring and power
  • Test equipment and data acquisition software (LabView preferred)
  • Experience with mid to high volume mechanical device manufacturing (preferred)
