About the position

The Maintenance / Custodian / Dock Worker position at Anacortes Marina is responsible for ensuring a safe and clean environment for all marina users, including owners, tenants, and guests. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, utilizing hand and power tools, and requires effective communication and flexibility in scheduling to meet the marina's needs.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools, power tools, and power equipment to complete cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Open buildings and secure facilities as required.
• Clean and paint facilities, including buildings, docks, and grounds.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with supervisors and staff.
• Flexibility to adjust work schedule to meet marina needs.
• Physical ability and stamina to perform the work expected of a marina worker, including lifting and carrying loads up to 50 pounds, working on ladders, and being comfortable in an outdoor marine environment.
• Demonstrated skill to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong personal skills and a work history showing decision-making abilities and the ability to work well with staff and marina patrons.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Prior maintenance and marine experience is a plus.
