About the position

The Marketing Analytics Director will play a critical role in developing and overseeing the agency’s marketing analytics strategy, driving the growth and evolution of the analytics service line. This leader will be responsible for translating complex data into actionable insights that inform marketing campaigns, optimize performance, and drive business growth for both our agency and our clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of marketing metrics, advanced analytics tools, and the ability to clearly communicate data-driven stories, while leading the analytics team and fostering client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive marketing analytics strategy that aligns with client goals and agency objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance on data collection, reporting, and analysis methodologies to improve campaign performance and ROI.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape client reporting & visualizations, agency-wide initiatives and decision-making processes using data insights.
  • Partner with cross-departmental teams to align analytics strategies with broader media and marketing objectives.
  • Continuously seek out strategies to enhance the agency's analytics capabilities and offerings, driving improvements that increase value for both clients and internal teams.
  • Remain informed of industry trends, emerging tools, and methodologies to keep the agency’s analytics solutions at the cutting edge.
  • Oversee the collection, cleaning, and integration of marketing data from various sources, including digital channels, CRM systems, paid media, social media, and more.
  • Oversee the designing, maintaining, and optimizing of data warehouses, dashboards, visualizations, data pipelines, and reporting tools that support strategic decision-making.
  • Work directly with the agency's data aggregation partner to facilitate data mapping, manage data set updates, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (media, strategy, creative, social, web, operations) to ensure accurate data capture and reporting.
  • Oversee the development of interactive, customized Tableau dashboards for both internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring data is actionable, accurate, and insightful.
  • Streamline reporting processes by implementing and monitoring best practices and standardized procedures, continually enhancing reporting capabilities.
  • Create regular reports that communicate marketing effectiveness and recommendations for optimization to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead ongoing performance reviews for key client accounts, providing strategic insights and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct advanced statistical analyses (e.g., regression, predictive modeling, segmentation) to uncover trends, identify growth opportunities, and optimize marketing strategies.
  • Leverage A/B testing, multivariate testing, and other methods to continuously improve marketing initiatives.
  • Use attribution modeling to measure the impact of different marketing touchpoints across the customer journey.
  • Act as primary analytics contact for key clients, understanding their unique goals to develop tailored strategies, solutions, and action plans.
  • Present complex data and insights in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to both technical and non-technical client and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations on marketing strategies based on data insights, focusing on driving business outcomes.
  • Advise on and oversee data troubleshooting efforts, ensuring that dashboards and reporting tools align with client goals and provide seamless access to vital metrics.
  • Attend and contribute to both internal and client meetings, ensuring clear communication between the Analytics team and other departments.
  • Provide strategy and leadership to the Analytics team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous learning and achieving key results.
  • Mentor, supervise, and develop team members to elevate the team’s capabilities and performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new analytics technologies, and emerging best practices in data-driven marketing.
  • Oversee the management of tickets and analytics requests, prioritizing and delegating tasks to the team as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field or experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing analytics, data analysis, or related roles within a marketing/advertising agency or similar environment.
  • Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies that drive business outcomes, with a thorough understanding of marketing measurement KPIs (conversions, CPA, ROI).
  • Demonstrated experience working with Tableau, Salesforce, Adobe Analytics, Power BI, Microsoft Access or other reporting and database systems. Experience with Adverity a plus.
  • Tagging & tracking experience via Google Tag Manager or similar. GA4 experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media. Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data for various audiences.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
