About the position

The Marketing Manager, Innovation Manager will be responsible for helping generate and execute the innovation pipeline across the company's consumer brands. This role will be at the forefront of developing new products, whitespace opportunities, and ensuring quality delivery of new products to market. You will lead all aspects of the product development process, from concept creation and positioning to pricing and commercialization, ensuring alignment with brand purposes and priorities. Additionally, this role requires significant cross-functional collaboration, particularly with the Brand, Sales Strategy, R&D, and Project Management teams. This position thrives leveraging creativity, strategic insight, and data to create compelling new products that drive market success.

Responsibilities

  • Identify New Opportunities: Leverage in-depth knowledge of consumer and category trends, competition, and shopper behaviors to ideate and execute new product opportunities that drive profitability growth.
  • Lead Product Development: Oversee all aspects of product development, from creating meaningful consumer concepts and positioning innovation ideas to effectively communicating product benefits, pricing, and cost strategies.
  • Utilize Insights and Data: Leverage trends, insights, and data from multiple sources to inform new product ideas and sizing opportunities. Initiate and manage market research projects to gain valuable insights.
  • Leverage Strong Financial Acumen: Bring new products to market by evaluating cost versus value benefits and maximizing revenue potential to gain share & profit.
  • Prepare Persuasive Materials: Develop compelling sales and internal communication materials to sell innovation pipeline strategies and new product ideas to key internal stakeholders.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Projects: Act as the project lead and liaison with other cross-functional partners to ensure innovation initiatives progress toward launch and receive the necessary resources and support.
  • Support Production Process: Partner closely with project management, operations, and planning to ensure feasible execution & deliver quality products on time.
  • Collaborate with Brand Teams: Work closely with brand teams to ensure all new items in development align with each brand's purpose and priorities.
  • Manage Market Research Projects: Initiate and manage market research projects to deliver powerful consumer and shopper insights, facilitating continued brand growth.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to develop and lead the execution of an innovation pipeline, including identifying white space opportunities and commercializing new products through to launch.
  • Demonstrated strength in key marketing areas such as positioning, brand development, innovation, and project leadership.
  • Skilled in various market research techniques, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to craft compelling ideas and recommendations based on consumer insights and business needs.
  • Ability to translate consumer and market insights into effective brand and innovation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate valuable insights and ideas, with a clear understanding of what drives market success and impact.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and solve problems effectively.
  • Proven experience working as a collaborative partner with cross-functional teams such as project management, brand, and R&D.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to balance creative thinking with a pragmatic business mindset.
  • 5+ years of experience in brand or product management within a CPG environment, with specific experience in new product innovation.
