About the position

The purpose of the Mechanical Assembler is to safely and efficiently assemble structural and mechanical components with the goal of producing our quality products that meets specifications. Modula is the leading US manufacturer of vertical lift modules (VLM) and automated storage and retrieval systems. Responsibilities

  • Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimal supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using the proper tools and equipment.
  • Read and follow assembly specifications, bills of material and drawing sets, and identify discrepancies.
  • Break down assembly drawings and specifications, and plan the successive steps of fabricating and assembling mechanical parts and units.
  • Assemble parts according to print including fitment, alignment and adjustment.
  • Ensure mechanisms are free from binding or interference and function properly, and diagnose and repair of improper mechanical assembly or operation.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner; support all safety and environmental rules and environmental initiatives.
  • Participate in initiatives to provide ongoing continuous improvement ideas for products, process, and procedures.
  • Work in other areas of the factory as may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of relative experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum education of a high school diploma or its equivalent; vocational (or higher) education in a related field preferred; a combination of education and experience can be considered.
  • Understanding of the manufacturing industry is essential.
  • Must have a working knowledge and be proficient in reading blue prints, measurements, and tolerances.
