The Medical Assistant at Heuser Primary Care plays a crucial role in providing both front and back office support to healthcare professionals. This position involves direct patient interaction, assisting with examinations, maintaining medical records, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic. The Medical Assistant is expected to contribute to a positive patient experience and support the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide general front and back office support to professional staff.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms.
• Schedule patients and manage phone communications effectively.
• Maintain accurate patient information and ensure proper filing of charts and paperwork.
• Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Provider.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and document vital signs.
• Administer injections and perform venipuncture as directed by the physician.
• Perform various clerical support duties including reception, scheduling, and insurance communication.
• Organize and communicate with insurance companies for authorizations and referrals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Fingerprint Clearance Card or eligibility to apply within seven days of employment required.
