About the position

The Medical Director position at Theoria Medical involves overseeing skilled nursing facilities (SNF) while providing high-quality, patient-centered care. This part-time role emphasizes flexibility, work-life balance, and the opportunity to lead quality improvement initiatives within the facilities. The Medical Director will collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to ensure comprehensive care for residents, while also participating in administrative functions and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participate in administrative and quality initiatives.
  • Attend and participate in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings.
  • Provide guidance to facility staff and review/revise clinical guidelines as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and train facility staff.
  • Supervise facility clinical staff and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for resident care.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with acute illnesses and chronic diseases.
  • Complete provider documentation in Theoria's proprietary electronic health record (EHR) system, ChartEasy™.
  • Participate in Chronic Care Management, Transitional Care, RPM, and other medical quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with a valid medical license in Ohio.
  • Experience in a medical director role or similar leadership position in healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations related to skilled nursing facilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical staff and manage patient care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as PointClickCare, MatrixCare, or American HealthTech.
  • Familiarity with chronic care management and transitional care programs.
