About the position

The Mental Health Director at Correctional Psychiatric Services (CPS) is responsible for overseeing the provision and documentation of mental health services within the Plymouth County Jail. This role focuses on ensuring that mental health assessments and treatments are conducted in accordance with established policies and standards. The director will provide clinical supervision, coordinate training for staff, and maintain communication with facility personnel to enhance mental health delivery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate provision and documentation of mental health services to ensure identification, assessment, and treatment are provided according to policies and standards.
  • Provide professional and administrative support to staff.
  • Maintain open communication with facility staff to facilitate mental health delivery systems and resolve problem situations.
  • Provide clinical supervision to mental health staff.
  • Coordinate facility mental health scheduling and Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Coordinate training for correctional and medical staff on mental health issues as requested by the facility.
  • Provide individual therapeutic support to incarcerated individuals and immigration detainees, addressing mental health concerns.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Independently licensed mental health professional.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a correctional environment is preferred.
