About the position

The MRI Technologist at Sutter Health is responsible for performing routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to produce quality images for diagnostic purposes. This role requires independent judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe and precise imaging, while also providing excellent patient care through effective communication and monitoring. The technologist adheres to regulations and policies to maintain patient privacy and safety, and may assist in orienting new staff within the department.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized MRI procedures to produce quality images for diagnosis and treatment.
• Exercise sound judgment and clinical skills to execute safe and precise imaging procedures.
• Gain confidence and cooperation from patients and their families through effective communication and assessment.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety in patient care.
• Assist in orienting new staff to the department as needed.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
• CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist or ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist or ARRT (MRI) certification.
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
• 5 years of recent relevant experience in MRI procedures.
• General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, and equipment.
• Ability to perform routine MRI examinations and understand human anatomy and medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly.
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience responding to traumas and hospital emergencies.
• Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records.
