About the position

The Night Service Representative is responsible for addressing on-call business needs during overnight hours when the hotel lobby is closed. This role ensures that services provided are consistent, courteous, and meet high standards of quality to maintain guest satisfaction. The representative handles various tasks including guest check-ins, emergency maintenance, and safety issues, while also maintaining control of hotel keys and providing information to guests.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to guests upon call notification for check-ins, emergency maintenance, noise complaints, and safety situations.
  • Maintain control of all hotel keys, safeguarding them from mishandling or theft.
  • Log keys in and out as necessary.
  • Organize, confirm, process, and conduct limited guest check-ins/check-outs, including greeting and registering guests, assigning rooms, issuing room keys, and collecting payments.
  • Stay informed about hotel policies, training, and safety procedures.
  • Provide guests with directions and information regarding property amenities, services, and local areas of interest.
  • Perform bookkeeping activities such as logging events, running reports, and posting payments to guest folios.
  • Maintain proficiency in all location computer and software systems.
  • Respond to emergency situations and communicate with first responders as necessary.
  • Cover another hotel in the area during critical staffing needs when necessary.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to log events in writing and prepare routine correspondence.
  • Proficient in operating the hotel mobile phone and computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and Hotel PMS system.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Friendly and cooperative manner with patience in dealing with guests and staff.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Self-starter with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and interpret data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospitality or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software.
