The Lead Baker position at a small-batch artisan sourdough bakery in Brooklyn is a part-time role focused on producing high-quality sourdough bread. Responsibilities

  • Mixing, shaping, and baking sourdough bread.
  • Monitoring fermentation and proofing processes.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assisting with production efficiency and consistency.

Requirements

  • Experience baking artisanal sourdough bread (natural fermentation, hand shaping, etc.).
  • Current food handler's license (required).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Attention to detail, quality, and consistency in every loaf.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow recipes and procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs (flour bags, dough tubs, etc.).
