Responsibilities

• Assist RNs in the Emergency Department Short Stay Unit with various functions including phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Transport patients safely within the unit.
• Check rooms and equipment to ensure readiness for patient care.
• Assist patients with dressing and feeding as needed.
• Perform some clerical functions to support the unit.

Requirements

• Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program at the time of hire.
• Candidate enrolled in a Nursing program, Pre-Med or PA undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed at time of hire.
• Effective customer service orientation and ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff, and providers.
• Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using strong interpersonal and communication skills.
