Responsibilities

  • Balancing cash drawers and counting cash.
  • Assisting patients with Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
  • Accepting and posting payments.
  • Processing insurance remits.
  • Communicating effectively with patients and colleagues regarding insurance payments and denials.
  • Answering claims-related questions.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to think analytically and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
  • Strong personal computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both on the phone and in person.
  • Outgoing and friendly attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Basic math skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in a hospital business office or customer service department.
  • Experience using Meditech software.
  • Experience reading EOBs.
