About the position

The Payroll Compliance Auditor is responsible for ensuring that the company's payroll processes comply with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves conducting audits to verify correct contributions to labor union benefit fund plans as per Collective Bargaining Agreements, and providing recommendations for improvements based on audit findings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance audits to ensure correct contributions to labor union benefit fund plans.
• Schedule and conduct reviews at employer locations, including travel outside the tri-state area.
• Compare payroll documentation to benefit fund reports to verify correct contributions.
• Prepare detailed reports for any discrepancies using Excel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Mathematical Studies preferred.
• Bookkeeping and/or payroll experience is a plus.
• Strong data analytics and advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Good decision-making abilities.
• Must have a car.
• Ability to work a hybrid remote schedule after the training period.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in payroll compliance auditing.
• Familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
