About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician in the Outpatient Retail Pharmacy at Mercy, you will assist pharmacists in managing medication orders and daily department needs. This role involves performing medication order functions, providing exemplary customer service, and guiding other technicians and pharmacy interns during their training. You will work in a supportive team environment focused on delivering high-quality care to patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in prioritizing medication orders.
• Perform medication order functions such as order interpretation, preparation, drug distribution, and quality assurance.
• Provide exemplary customer service during interactions with patients, customers, healthcare providers, and other associates.
• Guide and provide direction to other technicians and pharmacy interns during their training in pharmacy drug distribution and operational matters.

Requirements

• Prior retail or hospital outpatient pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active Pharmacy Certification or Provisional Certification required.
• Provision Certifications must obtain State Certification within 12 months.
