About the position

The Physician Geriatrician at Clinica Sierra Vista is responsible for providing general outpatient geriatric services to a diverse patient population. This role emphasizes compassionate care for geriatric patients, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and adherence to high medical ethics standards. The position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on patient health and includes potential involvement in academic programs.

Responsibilities

• Performs in-person and virtual visits.
• Conducts comprehensive Medicare Annual Wellness visits.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Keeps accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Adheres to the highest standards of medical ethics.
• Assures quality of care for all patients and participates in clinic Peer Review and Quality Assurance Programs.
• Maintains a clinic practice of at least 34 patient care hours per week, with 6 hours of admin time built into the 40-hour work schedule.
• Supervises advance practice providers on-site and by telephone with outlying clinic sites.
• Represents Clinica Sierra Vista in professional groups.
• Assists the Chief Medical Officer in the design, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare programs/protocols for patients and staff.
• May be required to work at any satellite facility on a scheduled basis.

Requirements

• Experience working in a diverse environment.
• Knowledgeable and compassionate towards the care of geriatric patients.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive Medicare Annual Wellness visits.
• Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals such as primary care providers, psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers.
