About the position

Theoria Medical is seeking a part-time Medical Director to oversee skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participate in administrative and quality initiatives. This role includes attending monthly quality assurance meetings, guiding facility staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supervising clinical staff. The physician will also serve as the attending physician for residents, providing high-quality, patient-centered care, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, and utilizing electronic health record systems for documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF).
  • Participate in administrative and quality initiatives for the facilities.
  • Attend and participate in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings.
  • Provide guidance to facility staff and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise facility clinical staff and train them as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for day-to-day resident care.
  • Round on patients residing in SNFs and provide comprehensive primary care services.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with acute illnesses and chronic diseases.
  • Complete provider documentation in Theoria’s proprietary electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in Chronic Care Management, Transitional Care, RPM, and other medical quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with appropriate licensure.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or similar settings.
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with PointClickCare, MatrixCare, and American HealthTech EHR systems.
