About the position
The Plumber/Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing systems.
- Install new plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Respond to emergency plumbing calls.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plan repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, such as repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
- Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
- Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Related experience preferred.
- On-the-job training offered.
- Technical knowledge of plumbing systems.
- Physical strength and stamina.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Manual dexterity.
- Interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, building codes, and understand local plumbing codes and regulations.
- Skills in using diagnostic tools, power tools, and maintenance software.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
