The Plumber/Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing systems.
Install new plumbing systems and fixtures.
Respond to emergency plumbing calls.
Maintain accurate records of work performed.
Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
Plan repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, such as repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Related experience preferred.
On-the-job training offered.
Technical knowledge of plumbing systems.
Physical strength and stamina.
Problem-solving skills.
Manual dexterity.
Interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to read blueprints, building codes, and understand local plumbing codes and regulations.
Skills in using diagnostic tools, power tools, and maintenance software.
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
