About the position
The City of Burbank is currently hiring for Police Officer/Recruit. Candidates must complete the department application and the FrontLine National written exam through the National Testing Network before NOON Friday, MARCH 21, 2025. The City of Burbank requires the candidate's PHQ as well, which must be completed by the closing date. Candidates may be required to reside within one hour of their work location after six months of completing their initial probationary period. The current salary is $7,498.96/month, increasing to $8,332.18 - $10,405.76/month after successful completion of the Police Academy. Additional differential pay is available for those with an Advanced POST or a Master's Degree.
Responsibilities
- Attend a regular basic POST certified academy.
- Complete training in laws, police procedures, law enforcement techniques, first aid, and physical fitness.
- Drive on City business.
- Be sworn in as a full-duty Police Officer upon graduation.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Must be at least 20 years of age to apply and must be 21 years old upon graduation from the academy.
- Must be in good physical condition as determined by the City Medical Examiner.
- A valid California Class 'C' driver's license or equivalent at time of appointment.
Nice-to-haves
- Possession of an Advanced POST for differential pay.
- Possession of a Master's Degree for additional differential pay.
