Principal UI/UX Designer

About the position

Where to fly, when to fly, what to fly... The art of network planning and scheduling is at the heart of airlines. It defines what an Airline intends to fly for a specific future period including routes, timing, aircraft assignments, and rotations. At the same time, it must satisfy operations constraints e.g. crew, aircraft maintenance, airport curfew, passenger types (business, leisure, booking habits) and factor uncertain future environment (competition, pandemic evolution). At Amadeus, we want to re-invent the future of network planning with 'Sky Suite'; the next generation optimization, simulation, and data analytics solutions to help airlines improve their efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Create user-interface designs considering usability/UX principles and design best practices.
• Collaborate with customers and the project team to translate requirements into functional, user-friendly interfaces.
• Run ideas and design workshops when necessary.
• Create wireframes and low-fidelity mock-ups, drive the review and approval of those designs with both customer and internal stakeholders.
• Review and test the delivered software ensuring that the implementation is usable and adheres to user interface design principles.
• Analyze the testing of those UIs with customers and provide feedback into the iterative design process where necessary.
• Keep up to date with usability industry trends and best practices and inspire the rest of the project team to continually improve the design of the applications.
• Document your solutions, ideas, best practices, and tips.

Requirements

• Degree in UX/UI design or related field, or significant (5+ years) UX industry experience.
• Demonstrate a portfolio of designs across more than one project.
• Creativity and visual design skills.
• Familiarity with Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, or the Adobe product suite.
• Aware of low and high-fidelity design practices and experienced in their application.
• Experience in designing desktop and web solutions.
• Ability to maintain design artifacts repository preferably in WPF and React.
• Accessibility and responsiveness awareness.
• Familiarity with end-user testing, observation, and analysis.
• Familiar with agile development processes.
• Working knowledge of the foundations of engineering principles and how design translates into code.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, great team spirit, taste for coaching/mentoring, multicultural approach, good analytical and conceptual thinking, customer focus.
