About the position

The Procurement Analyst is responsible for purchasing general materials and construction supplies, issuing purchase orders, and expediting material and supplies. This role involves reviewing requisitions, securing vendor quotations, processing purchase requisitions, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support field production.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and review field requisitions for completeness and accuracy, conferring with requestors when clarification is required.
  • Release material from pre-negotiated blanket purchase orders and maintain tracking logs of released material and quantities released.
  • Secure vendor quotations on requisitions and process requisitions for purchase.
  • Prepare bid invitations for RFQ/RFP and perform leveling of vendor quotations.
  • Assist in generating submittal information for requested commodities, supplies, or equipment.
  • Issue change orders as required in accordance with revised BOMs.
  • Expedite and ensure timely delivery and back orders, following up to maintain optimum field production.
  • Handle return material to ensure proper and timely credit to the project.
  • Review and approve invoices and interface with vendors and A/P to resolve invoice problems.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by Senior Purchasing Agent or Division Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years in purchasing or related field in the electrical industry, which can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
