About the position

The Associate Product Developer role is a part-time position that involves close collaboration with the Design team to ensure the completion of garments from concept through production with the highest quality and within cost parameters. The candidate will utilize problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills to oversee day-to-day development, ensuring brands are on calendar. This is a permanent full-time role for a highly organized individual who can effectively communicate with other departments and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and production process by assisting in the placement, execution, and follow-up on developments and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Ensure updates to weekly WIP reports for multiple seasons simultaneously to maintain accurate information used by cross-functional partners.
  • Track, unpack, and distribute samples and approvals throughout the development process, including support with all TOP check-ins.
  • Assist in follow-up on all product specifications, quality standards, lab dips, testing, sample deadlines, and deliveries.
  • Process all data entry into the product management system, including style set-up and creating and maintaining purchase orders to the factory.
  • Update and maintain weekly Product consoles, Reports, PLM, Vendor WIPs, and organize and enter costing.
  • Understand the Calendar and the importance of maintaining deadlines to help ensure timely developments.
  • Communicate daily with vendors to ensure all information and updates are tracked accordingly.
  • Assist in day-to-day tasks and assignments as directed by management.

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with PLM systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in product development, production, or fashion-related roles is a plus.
  • Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Fashion, Product Development or similar field.
  • Knowledge of Knits PD.
  • Familiarity with product development timelines and processes.
  • Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and knowledge of CAD a plus but not required.

Benefits

  • A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range is $19.00/hr to $21.00/hr.
