The Product Development Coordinator will support key development milestones and help drive the product development process from concept to execution. In partnership with their manager, this role will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of development, ensuring alignment with Glossier’s formulation and brand guidelines. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Product Development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Product Development Senior Manager on the key milestones for Skincare, Complexion & Holiday.
  • Partner closely with Packaging, Creative, R&I, and Product Marketing to create a holistic product experience that engages Glossier’s new and repeat customers.
  • Successfully collaborate cross-functionally and with external cosmetic manufacturers regarding product briefs, formula feedback, claims, artwork, and regulatory deliverables with manager guidance.
  • Lead competitive analysis for new launches within Skincare, Complexion, and Holiday categories, ensuring launches are both relevant and competitive in the marketplace.
  • Support Product Development PLM, Monday, and other systematic deliverables for Skincare, Complexion, and Holiday categories.
  • Lead claims list development for all Skincare, Complexion, and Holiday programs, creating compelling and innovative claims language in partnership with R&I and regulatory.
  • Maintain up-to-date, clear storage and tracking systems for the Skincare, Complexion, and Holiday categories: Active projects, product historical, brand historical, and standards.
  • Actively participate in vendor innovation presentations, managing the capture of detailed notes and samples, and the ongoing vendor innovation catalog.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of efficient storage and tracking systems for physical samples and digital support information.
  • Lead and curate a Bi-monthly competitive report tracking relevant new launches, purchasing, and evaluating key competitive products, and reporting on insights to inspire new learnings and applications.
  • External meeting preparation trays and product send-outs, coordinating with the Product Team to ensure all items are prepared and labeled correctly.
  • Supports the coordination of samples for cross-functional team distribution.
  • Collaborate in the maintenance of the Product Team’s physical and digital spaces.
  • Support 2-3 low-complexity programs, leading them through all product development milestones from end to end to gain a deeper understanding of the development process in partnership with their manager.
  • With support from the manager, partner with external partners at lab and production scales, working on new and existing formulas. Attend select pilot/production scale-ups to help ensure optimal translation and quality.
  • Lead all the competitive analysis to help support the development for Skincare, Complexion, and Holiday programs, creating compelling and innovative claims language in partnership with R&I and regulatory.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant work experience in beauty product development.
  • Experience building strong relationships with domestic and international vendors.
  • Passionate about skincare, makeup and the beauty industry.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Is a self-starter, able to take initiative, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organization and presentation skills.
  • Attend meetings internal and external as needed including but not limited to retailer presentations, trade shows, labs, factories, etc.
  • Domestic and international travel is required.
