Product Engineer, Full-stack (CockroachDB Cloud Console)

About the position

We are looking for Full-stack Product Engineers to join the CockroachDB Cloud Console team. We welcome engineers with either a frontend or backend orientation who are comfortable contributing across the stack. The Console team is a product development team that builds user interfaces, APIs, and integrations (including Terraform) that simplify how users set up, connect to, manage, and operate their CockroachDB clusters. You'll have opportunities to shape our frontend architecture and public API design, empowering other teams to build and innovate faster. We're looking for team-oriented engineers who are excited about distributed databases, scalable infrastructure, and intuitive user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product managers, designers, docs writers, and engineers across teams.
• Expose and showcase CockroachDB's differentiators via a developer and operator friendly set of product surfaces.
• Drive front-end best practices and public API design, making it easier for other teams to contribute to the UI and API in a consistent manner.
• Design, build, and test features that are critical to the success of CockroachDB Cloud.
• Develop in React/Typescript/Go, but if you don't know it, you'll learn while you're here.
• Experiment and leverage modern tools, including AI-powered coding assistants and productivity tools, to streamline your workflow and amplify your impact.
• Participate actively in design and technical discussions, contributing your ideas and expertise.
• Support team culture through mentorship, feedback, and collaboration.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in building intuitive, responsive interfaces with React, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
• Experience in developing scalable, reliable backend APIs, ideally with Go.
• Experience in building and maintaining developer-facing tools such as Terraform providers or command-line interfaces (CLIs).
• Experience delivering value within a rapid, iterative, and data-driven release cycle.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills.
• Passion for building practical, user-friendly products.
• A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
