About the position

You will be a key member of the product team that is responsible for setting and executing your product’s business strategy and addressing your market's key problems. You will leverage your business acumen, industry and market data to inform and execute product experiences that delight customers and sustain revenue growth for the business. You will discover, analyze and solve transit market problems through frequent engagement and observation of your customers. Using verified market data, you will produce a product vision, communicate and evangelize that vision to your customer, stakeholders, product team and develop and execute strategies to make that vision a reality.

Responsibilities

  • Identify market opportunities by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers
  • Conduct competitive analysis and develop a strong understanding of stakeholders to drive product decisions
  • Synthesize information gathered to develop a go-to-market product strategy and manage its execution
  • Develop, communicate and execute a multi-year product strategy that goes far beyond today’s technology portfolio that is responsive to industry needs and surpasses competitors
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to drive bookings and revenue by ensuring solutions are responsive to clients’ needs and able to be launched, deployed and supported successfully and efficiently
  • Manage the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution
  • Act as product evangelist both internally and externally
  • Balance long-term investments in enabling technology and vision with short-term product requirements; including when to build vs. buy vs partner, or change from one technology to another
  • Identify, analyze and manage technical debt with your product
  • Measure and manage product quality
  • Analyze key performance metrics to measure effectiveness and drive improvements
  • Deliver compelling presentations to stakeholders of all levels of an organization
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product
  • Analyze and keep abreast of trends in technology and your market

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a B2B product management role for a business that delivers enterprise solutions
  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Business, Marketing or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Effective presentation ability to influencers, senior executives, and industry audiences
  • Decisive and concise - making strategy, product features, pricing and other important product messages clear and unambiguous for internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent customer rapport and proven ability to defuse tense situations and help customers see solutions to problems with our products
  • Experience in agile and hybrid software development methodologies
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within North America

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a customer-facing role within the transit technology industry or other public sector markets
  • Practical experience with Pragmatic Marketing and its application
