About the position

The Product Owner is responsible for defining the product vision, prioritizing the product backlog, and ensuring the delivery of high-value features that enhance Carnival's digital presence, drive automation and customer engagement. The role oversees all stages of product creation, from design to development, and works with all stakeholders to deliver updates and status reports. The Product Owner collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand business goals, market/in-house trends, and customer demands, and then communicates these to the development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Outline recommended product vision and strategy.
  • Set overall direction and goals for the product to align with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Create and maintain the product roadmap.
  • Manage and prioritize backlog items based on business value, stakeholder feedback, and market/in-house trends.
  • Collaborate and engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with the product vision.
  • Provide updates to stakeholders and management on the product's performance and progress.
  • Communicate and meet with the development team to convey product goals, priorities, and requirements.
  • Monitor the team’s progress, provide guidance, and ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Lead agile meetings for continuous improvement and alignment with the product vision.
  • Review and approve user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure the final product delivers maximum value and meets the needs of the end-users.
  • Analyze market/in-house trends and feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in product management or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
  • Hands-on experience in website development and digital product management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Master's preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) is a plus.

  • Leverage Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • Utilize web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development frameworks.
  • Apply UX/UI design principles to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.
  • Understand software development and collaboration processes.
  • Manage product management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence.
  • Operate content management systems like Sitecore.
  • Leverage customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
