The packing team member is responsible for making sure all products coming from the Bakehouse are packed according to set specifications and meet all quality standards.
Responsibilities
Understand and adhere to Bakery procedures and policies.
Follow all standards and guidelines set forth by USDA, FDA, and Whole Foods.
Complete all required daily documentation for FSMA, HACCP, Metal detection, and all other logs as required for the facility.
Maintain accurate packaging of products, correct labeling, batch and pack dates applied, and case quantity.
Abide by all safety regulations set forth by OSHA and region or state.
Complete all necessary trainings on all equipment necessary to perform daily responsibilities.
Follow all established job-specific set-up, production, and breakdown procedures as outlined in the Bakehouse policies and procedures.
Responsible for keeping clean and maintaining specific job areas (equipment, floors, worktables, desks, offices, etc.).
Take a proactive approach towards controlling costs by responsible use of all Bakehouse products, supplies, and equipment.
Maintain open lines of communication with Leadership.
Follow all packaging sheets.
Accurately weigh, measure, and count product to ensure effective food cost and maximum food quality.
Understand the use of time and temperature indicator labels.
Check all labeling of products and shipping boxes for accuracy and maintain a label log daily.
Proper use of knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, baler and all other equipment used during preparation and clean up within department and facility.
Requisition product from other areas of Bakehouse as needed daily.
Requisition packaging supplies as needed daily.
Maintain the highest standards regarding quality of all bakery products and materials.
Arrive to work on time, wear appropriate PPE, work all scheduled shifts, complete required trainings, and attend required meetings.
Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to operate a box maker.
Ability to operate a shrink tunnel.
Ability to operate a metal detector.
Ability to read and speak basic English.
Perform basic math calculations.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Able to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
