About the position

The Product Support Engineer (Body/Safety Systems) is responsible for monitoring the performance and quality of in-use Audi vehicles, specifically focusing on Electrical/Electronic systems. This role involves identifying and reporting product shortcomings to AUDI AG based on various sources of information, performing technical analyses on these shortcomings, and formulating recommendations for countermeasures. The engineer will also communicate with Audi Dealers to facilitate effective repairs and monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions. Additionally, the role includes ensuring successful technical launches for new Audi models and major systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor product performance and quality of in-use Audi vehicles.
  • Identify product shortcomings based on information from various sources.
  • Determine market-oriented priority lists for product shortcomings.
  • Analyze and track quality issues and communicate results to Audi AG.
  • Monitor and report the effectiveness of implemented countermeasures.
  • Perform pre-analysis of defective parts and coordinate onsite vehicle analyses.
  • Recommend service solutions to Audi AG to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide cross-functional assistance to various groups within AoA, VWGoA, Audi AG, vendors, and associations.
  • Support and coordinate the fault-solving process in cooperation with Audi AG departments.
  • Communicate resolutions for product shortcomings and procedures to Dealers.
  • Provide technical support to Technical Field Managers and Audi Technicians Helpline.
  • Assist in vehicle repairs when Dealer personnel require additional support.
  • Support all technical AoA new vehicle launch activities.
  • Assist in Audi AG activities such as test drives and press events.
  • Prepare detailed field situation overviews for quality topics for AUDI AG committees.
  • Prepare presentations of Top Quality Issues for meetings with Audi AG Board and Top Management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in related automotive fields.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in automotive engineering.
  • Extensive technical and product knowledge.
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize.
  • Ability to interpret and apply quantitative methodologies.
  • Assertiveness.
  • Ability to self-motivate and support others.

Nice-to-haves

  • German language skills.
