About the position

This position is within the Standard Plants Solutions (SPS) organization, supporting the Global functions of Project and Product Development. The Engineer’s principal accountability is to enhance and develop the global tools used for technology selection, opportunity development, and product assessment, with a focus on providing the most commercially advantageous solution. The tools will further improve Standard Plants Solutions decision making and evaluation of improvement initiatives, ultimately leading to new profitable business. The scope of the tools will include at a minimum the Product Cost Tools, Unit Gas Cost Tools, and additional sensitivities and optimization tools. Additional accountabilities will include intermittent support leading new Project Development opportunities as well as assisting other Global Product Ownership improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Improving and making improvements to the Product Cost Tools used for screening, budgetary, and firm proposal development.
  • Creating Unit Gas Cost tools for the evaluation and selection of the most cost-effective product model size and associated options.
  • Broad-based technical expertise of the SPS global products.
  • Enabling driven improvements' evaluation through Product improvement conceptualization through implementation.
  • Collaborating on new Project Development opportunities in both a supporting and lead role.
  • Supporting new and existing Global Product Ownership initiatives that improve commercial competitiveness over Sale of Gas contract lifetimes.
  • Co-ordinates the review of Client’s specifications and procedures and leads Client deliverables.
  • Sales of Liquid Helium and Hydrogen storage and transportable equipment including new market creation.
  • Accountable to delivery on revenue and profit.
  • Customer interaction, account responsibility of customer.
  • Defining and completing business strategy for intercompany customer and trade customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; with a minor (or higher) degree in Finance or relevant career experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and hold people accountable to commitments.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic Coding (or similar), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization.
  • English language proficiency (written and verbal) is required.
  • Ability to work efficiently with a global team, talking to team members in various countries and across cultures.
  • Ability to work independently, being accountable for accomplishing work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to take initiative with a bold demeanor.
