About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IP QoS Software Developer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions related to Quality of Service (QoS) in IP networks. This role focuses on ensuring optimal network performance for various applications and services, especially those sensitive to latency and packet loss like voice and video traffic.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement QoS software components for network devices (e.g., routers and switches).
  • Work with embedded systems and device drivers, ensuring proper QoS configuration and functionality.
  • Develop software using C, C++, and Python, adhering to high-quality coding standards.
  • Implement and optimize QoS technologies such as traffic classification, policing, shaping, queuing, and congestion avoidance mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex QoS-related issues in network environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., hardware and network engineers) to integrate QoS solutions and ensure seamless network operation.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance metrics (e.g., latency, jitter, packet loss) to assess QoS effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for QoS software designs and implementations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Software Developer with a strong focus on embedded systems and networking with a minimum of 10 years' experience.
  • In-depth understanding of IP networking principles, including routing, switching, and various protocols (TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, etc.).
  • Expertise in Quality of Service (QoS) concepts, mechanisms, and implementation techniques (DiffServ, IntServ, according to LiveAction, MPLS).
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with embedded systems programming, including bare-metal, RTOS, kernel, and driver development.
  • Strong knowledge of QoS technologies like policy maps, class maps, WRED, and RDMA.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and debugging experience in network environments.
  • Experience with performance benchmarking and high-performance architectures.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Benefits

  • Flexible work
  • Healthcare including dental, vision, mental health, and well-being programs
