About the position

The Quality & Food Safety Manager at Iberia Foods Corporation is responsible for leading the quality, food safety, and sanitation programs across multiple distribution centers and a light manufacturing facility. This role involves ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, managing product and packaging compliance for a large number of SKUs, and serving as a liaison for audits by regulatory bodies such as the FDA and USDA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain score carding of suppliers from a quality and FSMA standpoint in coordination with the legal team.
• Vetting of suppliers based on quality and FSMA parameters in coordination with the buying team.
• Develop and maintain a sampling program to review products from a quality and dry weight/compliance standpoint.
• Keep up to date with packaging and labeling requirements under applicable regulatory schemes.
• Work with food safety specialists to address technical questions from suppliers.
• Develop and manage a uniform food safety program for all sites.
• Select appropriate third-party organizations for food safety certification.
• Act as the liaison for FDA and USDA audits.
• Develop all quality, GMP, and food safety SOPs as needed.
• Review and revise quality assurance and sanitation training programs for the light manufacturing facility.
• Investigate and respond to customer complaints through root cause analysis.
• Coordinate and participate in mock recalls.

Requirements

• Experience in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) compliance.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and sanitation training programs.
• Background in supplier quality management.
