The receptionist will also answer telephone calls, screen calls, take messages, and provide information as needed. Additionally, the position requires coordinating lab work, reviewing encounter forms, and maintaining current patient information in the medical record. The receptionist will handle correspondence, maintain a neat work area and lobby, and manage patient payments, including issuing receipts. Financial counseling for patients requiring hospital admission or surgical procedures is also part of the role. The receptionist will reconcile daily cash, post charges and payments, prepare daily bank deposits, and ensure adequate office supply inventory. Assisting in nursing duties and staying current on coding regulations and billing requirements are also essential functions of this position.
