About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). In this critical care setting, you will provide high-quality nursing care to children with complex medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric nursing, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, ensuring adherence to HIPAA standards.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Administer IV infusions and manage catheter care for patients requiring specialized interventions.
• Perform venipuncture and assist with medical imaging procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and care procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and care provided in accordance with hospital policies.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Experience in an inpatient pediatric setting, preferably in a PICU or similar environment.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, IV infusion techniques, catheter care, and venipuncture.
• Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) used in pediatric care.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate care to children and their families.
• Knowledge of HIPAA standards related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
