About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Weslaco is a per diem role responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients. The RN will assess, plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care while collaborating with hospital staff and ancillary departments. This role requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform primary nursing functions including assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care.
• Interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments regarding patient care and concerns.
• Manage ventilator care and perform lab draws, including arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Respond to and activate Code Blue situations as needed.
• Maintain performance skills and adhere to compliance programs and conduct codes.

Requirements

• Valid RN Licensure in the State of Texas or a compact state license.
• Availability to work one full weekend and one full holiday per month.
• Willingness to be cross-trained in other unit areas.
• Completion of an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree, or Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
• Current certifications in BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI as required.
