About the position

We are seeking a Systems/Software Engineer with strong expertise in requirements management and decomposition to support a novel aircraft program. This role focuses on migrating and managing large sets of customer and system-level requirements in IBM DOORS Next Generation, ensuring full traceability and decomposition across hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Migrate and manage large sets of customer requirements into IBM DOORS Next Generation.
  • Perform requirements decomposition from high-level customer specifications to low-level system and component-level requirements.
  • Establish and maintain traceability matrices across hardware and software domains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure complete coverage and alignment of decomposed requirements.
  • Support verification planning using IBM DOORS Next Generation's verification module.
  • Work with both COTS and in-house developed software components to ensure proper requirement allocation.
  • Assist in converting spreadsheet-based requirement systems into structured, traceable formats within IBM DOORS Next Generation.
  • Participate in documentation efforts and ensure all requirements are safety-allocated and properly categorized.
  • Coordinate with systems and software engineers to support certification of multiple software items.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with IBM DOORS Next Generation, especially in managing large requirement sets.
  • Strong experience in requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification planning.
  • Familiarity with aerospace systems, especially novel aircraft or automotive components.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across hardware and software domains.
  • Experience with safety-critical systems and understanding of safety allocation principles.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with both software and hardware systems engineering is preferred.
