As a Retail Sales Associate, also known as a Generalist colleague, the Macy’s shopper is your highest priority. Responsibilities

  • Prioritize the customer by greeting them with a warm smile and engaging in genuine conversation.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to understand customer needs and suggest products that resonate with them.
  • Present options and solutions that enhance the customer’s purchase.
  • Close out the customer’s shopping journey with enthusiasm, celebrating their purchases.
  • Master Macy’s products, services, and loyalty programs to provide expert guidance.
  • Maintain a visually appealing shopping environment by upholding merchandise standards.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of the products you are selling and be able to give expert guidance to customers.
  • Engage with customers virtually, by phone, and in person, ensuring clear, helpful, and genuine interactions.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers and achieve sales goals.
  • Effectively use point-of-sale technology and digital tools.
  • Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends.
  • Create a welcoming, friendly environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Work seamlessly with colleagues at all levels and across departments.
