About the position

The RN, MedSurg position is a temporary role focused on providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting. The nurse will collaborate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring that all nursing activities are coordinated effectively with other disciplines. This role requires strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage a variety of patient needs, including discharge planning and education.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments of patients.
• Develop individual nursing plans of care sensitive to patient needs.
• Coordinate patient care activities with other departments and agencies.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on established protocols for medical and surgical patients.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Evaluate assessment methods and patient responses to treatment.

Requirements

• Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License in the state where care is provided.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Computer keyboarding skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous health care experience.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
• Experience in acute care or skilled nursing.
• Telemetry experience.
• Med/Surg Certification.
• Demonstrated clinical judgment with chronic illnesses and surgical orthopedic patients.
