The position involves working with retired and senior RSVP volunteers to engage students within Chicago Public Schools who are identified as at-risk for failing in reading and/or math or in danger of repeating their current grade. The role requires collaboration with RSVP volunteers on the primary focus for the program model using the Center for Collaborative Classroom’s (CCC) KidzLit and KidzMath Curricula. Responsibilities include maintaining partnerships with station agencies and Chicago Public Schools, providing resources and training opportunities to RSVP volunteers, and monitoring and supporting these volunteers on a weekly basis. The position also entails community outreach, recruitment, and communication of concerns to support RSVP volunteers' individual needs, goals, and growth. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Program Coordinator in servicing the RSVP volunteers in each school/station, cultivating relationships with local community leaders, planning trainings and workshops, and providing required reports and data materials to SGA and CNCS as needed.
