About the position

The Sales Associate position at Mathis Home is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and promoting merchandise in a showroom environment. The associate will be responsible for greeting customers, assisting with product selections, and completing sales transactions while maintaining a friendly and professional atmosphere. This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell merchandise displayed on the showroom floor.
• Greet and acknowledge every customer and co-worker that approaches.
• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions.
• Communicate customer service issues and requests to management.
• Follow up with customer orders and inquiries.
• Assist customers in making product selections based on their specifications.
• Explain features of products in a manner that customers will understand.
• Prepare sales tickets for orders obtained.
• Stay educated on new products, policies, and advertisements.
• Perform 'house calls' to assist customers in designing product selections for their home décor.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Driver's license.
• Ability to lift merchandise of 10 lbs.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
• Effective communication skills with team members and customers.
• Sales experience preferred, not required.

• Positive attitude when working with internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of methods for showing, promoting, and selling products.
