Senior Backend Software Engineer - Workplace Products

About the position

Verkada is a leader in cloud-based B2B physical security, offering six product lines integrated with a single cloud-based software platform. We are looking for software engineers who thrive in a high growth environment to launch products and features utilized by customers globally. As part of the Software Engineering team, you will have ownership of projects across various product or platform teams, working across the full software stack and collaborating cross-functionally to build the latest iterations of Verkada’s flagship software. Our team operates like a startup within a startup, providing a fair amount of ownership and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical direction and lead teams on project execution.
• Architect scalable systems and design latency-sensitive applications for our Intercoms deployed worldwide.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to design complex systems with simple and robust backend APIs.
• Own backend systems end-to-end, shipping significant products.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry backend software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer at a rapidly growing startup or innovative company.
• Deep expertise with relational databases; Postgres experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in either Python or GoLang.
• Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
